We're a national, student-run organization on a mission to make world-class academic experiences accessible to every Canadian student — regardless of background.
The Canadian Scholars Association was founded by a group of students who noticed a gap: high-quality academic competitions existed, but they weren't accessible enough. Entry costs were high, opportunities were concentrated in major cities, and student-run voices were rare.
So we built something different. CSA is entirely student-led, deliberately affordable at $20 per event, and fully online — so a student in Halifax has the same shot as one in Vancouver.
We host competitions in Entrepreneurship, Business, Science, English, Mathematics, and more. Every event comes with real prizes, official certificates, and feedback from judges who care.
A $20 fee and fully online format means geography and finances never block a great student.
Cash prizes, certificates, and genuine judge feedback — not participation trophies.
Every person at CSA is a student. We understand what students actually need.
From coast to coast — any Canadian secondary or post-secondary student can compete.

Everything you need to know about CSA and how to get involved.
The Canadian Scholars Association (CSA) is a national, student-run organization dedicated to providing high-quality academic competitions and enrichment programs for students across Canada. We host events in Entrepreneurship, Business, Science, English, and more.
CSA events are open to all Canadian students at the secondary and post-secondary level. Whether you're in Grade 9 or finishing your undergraduate degree, there's a place for you at CSA.
There is a $20 participation fee per event. This helps cover platform costs and prizes while keeping CSA accessible to as many students as possible. Our team volunteers their time to ensure the fee goes directly toward your experience.
CSA events are primarily held online to ensure every student across Canada can participate regardless of location. Some regional in-person events may be announced in the future — stay tuned!
All submissions are reviewed by a panel of judges with relevant expertise. Each entry is scored on a rubric tailored to the event. All participants receive an official certificate, and top performers are awarded cash prizes and national recognition.
